Every child is an individual. Every parent is doing their best. Let’s find the strategy that works for your family.

Parenting is hard, and sometimes you're just trying to survive the day. I’m not here to judge your choices; I’m here to help you get through them.

I don’t offer 'quick fixes' or rigid 5-step plans. Real change in a family doesn’t come from a script—it comes from understanding the unique rhythm of your child and your own needs as a parent.

We move away from 'fixing' behaviour and toward building a sustainable strategy that actually lasts.

My Relational enquiry approach:

  1. The Understanding: We talk. You tell me the reality of your day-to-day (the messy, exhausting, non-Instagram parts).
  2. The Analysis: I apply my clinical background (Evolutionary Psychology/Therapeutic Play) to help you see the "why" behind the patterns. We explore the patterns together with honesty, but always with the understanding that we are all doing the best we can with the tools we have.
  3. The Strategy: Together, we craft a sustainable, bespoke approach that fits your family's unique rhythm.
  4. The Evolution: We adjust as your child grows. It’s an ongoing, living strategy, not a rigid plan.

You are the expert on your child and your family. With your help I can help you to be the parent you want to be and go forward to grow with your child and truly connect with them.

About me.

Who I am:  I'm Mel and I’m here to help you navigate the complexities of parenting from expectant parents to young babies, toddlers right through to teens, discussing your thoughts, feelings and personal difficulties can help.

Why I do this: I’ve been the lone parent, widowed with a young neurodivergent child wondering what on earth should I do as I lay awake in the early hours of the morning.

My experience: My experiences lead me down a path of exploration, via biology, evolutionary psychology, child focused therapeutic play and exploring experts understanding of psychology and cognitive neuroscience and therapeutic help.

I’m still learning. With each person I meet I learn more whilst I help them to explore their unique position, with curiosity rather than judgement as together we partner to find their right solution

I'm a mother and grandmother. including my exchange foster children. My experience is with children in all sorts of families, separated, blended, multi- cultural, working across borders.

I use my background in Evolutionary Psychology to help you understand the why behind your child's behaviour.

25 years of working with 450 plus children going on long term cultural and linguistic European exchanges has helped me see how different families can work well with differing approaches, it has also taught me how to be questioning about cultural differences and understandings and to never assume I know what is meant without exploring it fully.

Working with families, including those from adopted families, bereaved families and many others, has helped me learn about the ways this can affect our attachment styles which in turn can affect our parenting styles and or securities or insecurities

I enjoy therapeutic play with children, and this drives my suggestions to parents to make their exchanges with children playful, on the child’s level and to promote autonomy.

My Approach:

Having navigated the most complex days of single parenting, I know that 'simple solutions' rarely survive the reality of a Tuesday afternoon. I don’t believe in shortcuts that ignore the complexity of your child. I believe in working together to find the strategy that fits your family, not a generic template that doesn’t.

My goal isn't to give you a temporary solution for today's meltdown. It’s to provide you with the insight and the tools to navigate whatever your child faces next month, next year, and beyond. We are building resilience, not just reacting to the moment.
